Josephine Devoti

Josephine (better known as Josie) is a Trainee Solicitor in her first seat in our Public Sector Team in the Chelmsford office. Josie assists the team with work on public procurement, commercial contracts, subsidy control advice, and real estate transactions.
Prior to her Training Contract, Josie was a Paralegal in our Banking and Finance Team based in Chelmsford. Josie assisted the team across all the offices, with advising and acting on behalf of both borrowers and lenders on acquisition finance and real estate finance transactions.
Between this and joining Birketts, in terms of legal experience, Josie worked at a small employment law firm as a Paralegal supporting the main fee earner with both Paralegal and secretarial duties. Josie also volunteered at the Hertfordshire Family Law Clinic whilst studying at university and currently volunteers at the Suffolk Law Centre through Birketts.
In her spare time Josie enjoys walking her dogs and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys travelling to different countries when she can.
Josie likes to give back to the community where she can and so she is a member of the Charity Committee in the Chelmsford office and is involved in arranging various fundraising events throughout the year. In addition to this Josie volunteers with the Suffolk Law Centre through Birketts, to deliver pro-bono legal advice.
