Top 100 law firm Birketts has advised the shareholders of Easey Pigs on its sale to international food producer, Tulip (part of Danish Crown). The deal value was not disclosed.
Easey Pigs, a Suffolk-based family firm, employed 70 staff directly and hundreds of other farmers across the UK to build a national business with a £60m to £70m turnover.
Birketts advised on all legal matters which included support from its specialist agriculture, regulatory and food teams, as well as tax and employment advice. Adrian Seagers, Partner and Head of Corporate Services, and Alexandra Nelson, Senior Associate, led the transaction with support from Paul Palik, Jennifer Leeder, Sonya O’Reilly, Ben Saraci and Philippa Dyer.
