Heidi joined Birketts on qualification in September 2014, and is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Team in Chelmsford.

Heidi has experience working for an array of clients, ranging from start-up businesses to international corporate entities, but the majority of her work is for family-owned businesses. Heidi specialises in corporate transactional work and has experience advising on share and asset disposals and acquisitions, share subscription and investment agreements, management buy-outs, employee ownership trusts, reorganisations and joint ventures.

Heidi’s practice also involves advising on day-to-day corporate matters, such as share buybacks, share capital reductions and general corporate governance. She also has an interest in advising clients on their compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Heidi has particular experience advising overseas clients who are developing, acquiring or disposing of business interests in the UK, and is a member of the Corporate Commission of AIJA, an English-speaking global network of over 4,000 lawyers and in-house counsel aged 45 and under, practising in over 60 countries around the world. This network means Heidi is also well placed to assist domestic clients in obtaining legal guidance when transacting with overseas entities.

Heidi has undertaken work in a number of industry sectors, including the property, fashion, financial services, insurance, technology, publishing, industrial services and media sectors.

Heidi enjoys not only bringing clients’ transactions to a successful completion, but also building long-term relationships with her clients, acting as a point of contact between her clients and other practice areas in the firm.

Heidi is recommended and named as a Rising Star by Legal 500 [UK 2024].

Before taking up her training contract with Birketts, Heidi read Law at Downing College, Cambridge University from 2008 to 2011 and completed the Legal Practice Course at Bournemouth University, for which she was awarded a distinction.
