Anousha Davies (formally known as Anousha Vasantha) is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney in our Intellectual Property Team and is based in our London office. Anousha qualified in August 2022 with a European IP specialist firm in London, and joined Birketts in January 2023.

Anousha specialises in intellectual property, acting for clients in both contentious and non-contentious matters involving trade marks, passing off, design and copyright matters.

Anousha has a background in working for a number of high-profile brands across the entertainment, fashion, FMCG, professional services and hospitality sectors in the UK and internationally. She also has experience advising start-ups and new brands. Anousha handles all aspects of trade mark matters, including availability searching, prosecution and enforcement. She also advises clients on strategic portfolio management, and global filing programs. She has experience with international settlement negotiations, UKIPO Tribunal proceedings, IP due diligence, co-existence agreements, IP licenses as well as conducting extensive reviews and audits of large trade mark portfolios.

Anousha forms part of our Food and Beverages Team and has built up a wealth of experience in clients in the food and beverages sector. She advises her clients on trade mark and design portfolios, including brand development (liaising with client’s dedicated marketing teams to identify brands which work for the client’s business aspirations), exploitation, diversification and navigating brand tie-ups. Anousha is also experienced in advising those in the food and beverages sector on packaging and labelling choices.

Anousha completed her LL.B (Hons) Law with Business degree from the University of Sussex in 2015, and subsequently obtained her Post Graduate Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice from Queen Mary University of London in 2019 and her Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice from Nottingham Law School in 2022. In 2023, she completed the advanced IP licensing course from UCL.

Anousha has authored articles for reputable industry publications, such as the CITMA Review and Law360. She continues to write articles concerning noteworthy cases in the trade mark world. Anousha is also passionate about encouraging diversity in the IP profession and is a mentor for the Careers in Ideas initiative.

Anousha is a member of several key IP professional bodies including Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA), International Trade Mark Association (INTA) and MARQUES. Anousha was listed as a key lawyer in the Legal 500 rankings [UK 2024].
