Matthew Grindley

Matt Grindley joined Birketts in March 2011 from a leading commercial law firm in the South East.

He qualified as a Solicitor in September 2007 and is a Senior Associate in our commercial real estate team based at our Chelmsford office.

Matt advises both corporate and individual clients on a wide range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions and disposals of both standalone assets and portfolios, lettings, and asset management for landlords and tenant. In addition, Matt provides support to the firm’s Corporate and Banking teams in relation to the property aspects of corporate and real estate finance transactions.

Matt is used to drawing upon the expertise and experience of Birketts’ colleagues in complementary practice areas, such as planning, construction and tax, to assemble and lead teams and to provide advice which is timely, pragmatic and commercially aware.

Recent work highlights

Acting for a regional Garden Centre in connection with the £4m refinance of its property, the sale of part of the property to a healthcare provider for £2m and the continuing management of its property portfolio.

Acting for a KFC franchisee client across its property portfolio, including the ongoing development of a new drive thru store in Essex.

Acting for a mainstream lender in connection with the £15m refinance of a prominent hotel in Liverpool.
