Seamus Clifford leads the corporate team in our London office and is head of our hospitality and leisure sector teams.
Described as “knowledgeable, practical and collaborative” in the Legal 500 UK, with more than 20 years’ experience in corporate law, Seamus has an intricate understanding of corporate finance, reorganisations, management buy-outs, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements and mergers and acquisitions.
Seamus works closely with founders, investors, funders, management teams and other professional advisers on transactions at all stages of the business lifecycle. He is valued for his calm and structured approach, strong attention to detail and ability to progress matters efficiently. Seamus also has considerable experience in international cross-border M&A and corporate advisory work, covering a broad spectrum of international businesses.

Advised Northridge Capital Limited on the sale of Kingston Plaza, a purpose-built student accommodation scheme in Kingston-upon-Thames.
Led the Birketts team advising Sir Richard Matthews on the sale of Fox’s Marina, Boatyard & Chandlery in Ipswich to Morgan Marine in Brightlingsea, forming the newly established, Morgans Group.
Led the Birketts team advising the shareholders of Grassform Plant Hire UK Limited on the sale of the company to NYSE listed NPK International Inc.
Advised Verve Group Limited on the off-market sale of Bedford Heights, a prominent business centre in Bedford, to Sirius Real Estate for more than £15 million.
