Susan is a Partner in our Private Client Advisory Team and assists clients with a full range of succession and tax planning, including the preparation of Wills, providing inheritance tax advice,  advising on trusts and powers of attorney.

Susan advises individuals and business owners to ensure their wishes can take effect in the manner intended and is involved in the firms’ equine sector.

Having assisted clients with estate planning for many years, she is aware of the importance that clients’ wishes take effect in the manner intended or that an estate administration is dealt with in a timely, supportive manner. Every client is unique and Susan tailors her advice according to the individual circumstances and, where appropriate, the advice is given alongside that of colleagues in other teams within the firm to ensure fully rounded, holistic advice is obtained.

Susan also deals with estate administrations, including advising on Deeds of Variation, where individuals inherit assets/funds from an estate but wish to pass them to others in a tax efficient manner, as part of tax planning.

Recent work highlights

Susan has recently assisted business owners with transferring shares in the family business into a trust, working alongside the client’s accountant to provide a joined-up approach.

She has also assisted with a sequence of documents to vary an estate and appoint assets out of a Will Trust to ensure effective tax planning for the surviving family members.
