Laurence Weeks has been appointed Head of Commercial Litigation at top 100 law firm Birketts.
Laurence, who joined Birketts in 2012, specialises in the resolution of complex disputes and has acted for a wide range of clients on a domestic and international basis. He has particular experience in dealing with claims relating to contractual interpretation, professional negligence, corporate, banking and insolvency matters. As well as taking on this new position he will also continue to lead the firm’s restructuring and insolvency team.
Commenting on his appointment, Laurence said: “The litigation and dispute resolution team is routinely ranked in the top tier by the legal directories, Legal 500 and Chambers. Indeed, Birketts has more ranked contentious lawyers than any other firm in East Anglia and our lawyers regularly conduct litigation in the High Court and the Court of Appeal as well as engaging in commercial arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.”

Laurence is based in Cambridge but leads a team across Birketts’ five offices: Cambridge, Chelmsford, Ipswich, London and Norwich.
