Birketts’ Banking and Finance Team expands with promotions and new hires

UK Top 50 law firm, Birketts, has announced the expansion of its top ranked Banking and Finance Team.
As a marker of this growth, Partner Devreaux Gravell has become Head of Real Estate Finance. Devreaux joined Birketts in 2019 and has extensive experience of advising both lenders and borrowers on all aspects of real estate finance transactions and corporate lending.
Partner Alex Schaafsma will continue to lead the firm’s Banking and Finance Team, which has also welcomed two new lateral hires this month.
Tom Berisford has joined the Banking and Finance Team as a Partner from Osborne Clarke. With experience of a wide range of financing transactions, Tom’s practice focuses on corporate lending and acquisition finance, and he is a trusted adviser to a range of clients from banks and alternative lenders to borrowers and private equity firms.
Susan Mitchell has joined the Team as a Legal Director. Arriving from Charles Russell Speechlys, Susan advises lenders (including institutional and non-bank lenders, and high net worth investors) and borrowers on a wide range of finance transactions, including corporate lending, acquisition finance, real estate finance and art finance.
