Olivia Sherman

Olivia is a Trainee Solicitor in her third seat in the employee incentives team in the Ipswich office. Olivia assists the team to create and advise on share schemes and bonus schemes. She also works with the team to assist companies with the sale of shares to Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs) and to provide advice on governance to existing EOTs.

Olivia’s first seat was in the shipping and international trade team and her second seat was in the commercial real estate SIPPs/SSASs team.

Prior to her Training Contract, Olivia joined Birketts in 2022 as a Paralegal in our employee incentives team, part of the wider corporate team. Assisting with the administration and implementation of a wide range of incentive arrangements for employees, including tax approved and non-tax approved share option schemes and employee ownership trust (EOT) matters.

Olivia graduated with a law degree from the University of East Anglia in 2021 and completed the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) with a Masters degree in Legal Practice in 2025. During her law degree, Olivia volunteered at the Norfolk Community Law Service spending time in the Domestic Abuse Advice Service and the Employment and Discrimination Legal Advice Service.

Olivia is the Vice-President and Social Media Manager for the Suffolk & North Essex Junior Lawyers Division and will be taking over as President in 2026.
