Birketts advises on sale of Farthest Gate to StarTraq

Birketts’ Corporate Team has advised the shareholders of Farthest Gate on its sale to August Equity backed StarTraq.
With headquarters in London, Farthest Gate is a leading provider of GovTech solutions. Its software allows local authorities to streamline the management of permits and commercial licences for parking, shop fronts, market stalls, outdoor seating and construction works as well processing parking and environmental fines.
Oxfordshire based StarTraq is a leading compliance software business providing solutions for offence processing, licencing, and permitting, focussed on the police and local authority market.
August and StarTraq’s acquisition of Farthest Gate expands its local authority software footprint, creating a leading compliance software group, with Farthest Gate co-founders Peter Spanos and Simon Meyer remaining with the group.
The Birketts team was led by Caroline Nicholls (Legal Director, Corporate) and supported by Adrian Seagers (Partner and Head of Corporate Services), Alex Forwood (Senior Associate, Corporate), Alex Price (Solicitor, Corporate), Jennifer Banfield (Trainee, Corporate), Karl Pocock (Partner, Corporate Tax), Robbie Watson (Associate, Corporate Tax), Anthony Metcalfe-Gibson (Senior Associate, Employee Incentives), Olivia Sherman (Paralegal, Employee Incentives), Nicholas West (Senior Associate, Employment) and Abbie Hubert (Associate, Employment).
