Amanda Timcke

Amanda joined Birketts in July 2017. She is a Legal Director in our Commercial Real Estate Team. Amanda qualified as a Solicitor in October 2003.
Advising on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, she represents a variety of clients including local government, healthcare, charities, and private investors. Her work includes an emphasis on the public sector, including education establishments. Amanda provides regular support and advice to banking institutions in relation to large scale property financing. She has previously led a cross-discipline education team at a leading Essex law firm, which followed a period of work in-house with Local Government after 10 years in private practice.
Her experience includes high value landlord and tenant transactions, strategic land development including promotion agreements, option agreements and the acquisition of land for landowners and developers. She has extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry and retains a particular interest in licensing law and regulated entertainment where she was previously ranked in the Legal 500 for excellence.
Having gained a Masters in Legal Practice in 2013, she is also able to advise on aspects of legal practice and rights of way, particularly in relation to village green and common land situations.
Outside of work, Amanda is President of the Suffolk and Essex Law Society 2023-2024, a former Trustee of the Children’s Endeavour Trust and holds the position of Visiting Senior Teaching Fellow in Law at the University of Suffolk.
Amanda was awarded a distinction in the Local Government Law and Practice Law Society diploma in 2022 in recognition of her knowledge and expertise in this field, and supporting sector clients.
Amanda is based in our Ipswich office.
