Lucy is a Senior Associate in the Employment Team and works from the Norwich office having previously worked for another Norwich firm and the Cambridge office of an international law firm. Lucy brings with her more than 15 years’ employment law experience, regularly providing strategic advice and support to employers on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues.
Lucy has an exemplary record handing employment tribunal litigation on behalf of employers and employees, including unfair dismissals, discrimination and protected disclosure claims. She is also a valuable asset for clients handling Subject Access Requests and ensuring parties remain GDPR compliant – skills she has honed during a number of secondments into the private sector; Lucy has served as in-house counsel for one of the UK’s biggest high street banks, a leading technology company in Cambridge and a national facilities management company.
Commenting on her appointment, Lucy said: “I’m delighted to join Birketts and be part of its top-tier Employment Team. I look forward to working with and supporting a host of interesting clients. With the country beginning to ease out of lockdown and businesses faced with recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, demand high-quality employment law advice will only grow, so it is vital that businesses and individuals reach out for legal support at the earliest opportunity.”
Jeanette Wheeler, Partner in Birketts’ Employment Team, added: “Lucy’s happy and friendly disposition and broad experience means she will be an asset to any client she advises. Her energy and pragmatism are invaluable qualities and make her an excellent fit for our nationally-recognised team. Lucy’s experience as in-house counsel during secondments gives her an insight to our client’s needs I am sure they and we will quickly benefit from.”
Based out of our Norwich office, Lucy will be working with clients and colleagues across our Cambridge, Chelmsford, Ipswich and London offices.
