Birketts has advised on the successful sale of ABC Taxis to Wales-based private hire technology company, Veezu.
Founded in 1992, ABC Taxis, a taxi and private hire businesses with operations in Norwich, south Norfolk and Broadland, has over 300 drivers and a fleet of over 150 eco-friendly vehicles.
The Birketts corporate team was led by Ed Savory (Corporate) and was assisted by Lucy Easey, Macauley Alsford (Corporate), Karl Pocock and Robbie Watson (Tax), Andrea Bailiss and Andrew Ridout (Property), and Tom Sharpe (Employment).
Talking about the transaction, Ed Savory, Partner at Birketts, said: “It was a pleasure to advise the owners of ABC Taxis on the sale of the company to Veezu. As a long-established Norfolk-based business, it was important to ensure that the deal went smoothly and that the path was laid for a successful transition. I’m glad that our team was able to play an important role in achieving this. The back story to ABC is fascinating, and the owners are great examples of how having a long term vision with a focus on doing things in the right way will more often than not result in the desired outcome for a business.”
Simon Callender, Director of ABC Taxis said: “Having had Birketts assistance on a couple of previous matters, I knew I would be in safe hands with Edward Savory and his team when it came to sell our business after 28 years. The whole process was well organised and issues were quickly resolved with good communication. I would certainly recommend them to any business owner.”
