Birketts Motor Team advises Stephen James Group on sale to Hedin Mobility Group

The specialist Motor Team at UK Top 50 Law Firm Birketts, has advised on the sale of the Stephen James Group to Hedin Mobility Group.
Stephen James Group, established in 1973, is a BMW and Mini retailer, selling in excess of 6,000 new and used cars annually, with dealerships in Bromley, Enfield, Ruxley, Woolwich and Blackheath.
Buyers, Hedin Mobility Group, is a family-owned company that owns and manages businesses with operations in the automotive industry. Following the acquisition, Hedin Mobility Group will operate as Stephen James Automotive (BMW and MINI) and Hedin Automotive London (Mercedes and smart), with a total footprint of 14 sales points and 9 workshops.
The Birketts team was led by Partner Alexandra Nelson (Corporate) and Senior Associate Emma Bysouth (Corporate) and were supported by Ed Savory (Corporate), Macauley Alsford (Corporate), Lucy Easey (Corporate), Harry Close (Corporate), Karl Pocock (Corporate Tax), Robbie Watson (Corporate Tax), Stacy Aspden (Commercial Property) and Rebecca Hughes (Employment).
Following the transaction, Richard Ennis, Group Managing Director of Stephen James, has been appointed CEO of Hedin UK.
