Charlotte Sloan is a Partner and leads our South East employment team.
Charlotte predominately advises employer clients on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious aspects of employment law. She has deep expertise in helping employers to strategically and commercially resolve disputes with employees and assisting organisations in promoting a positive culture for staff, supporting many organisations with employment law training on topics from diversity and inclusion to grievances, disciplinaries and performance management to how to retain and attract staff.
Charlotte has advised businesses and organisations from across a range of sectors and industries. She has a particular specialism in supporting clients in the education sector, including independent schools and colleges and has a strong understanding of the nuances of employment law specific to the sector and issues that commonly arise. Charlotte also has significant experience of advising major businesses and organisations in the transport and logistics and automotive sectors.
In addition to providing advice on day to day employment law issues, complex tribunal proceedings and disputes and collective redundancy and TUPE consultations, Charlotte has considerable experience advising on employment status issues including in connection with IR35, on the employment aspects of ESG and navigating trade union relations and industrial action in the workplace.
Recent work highlights
Providing extensive advice on sensitive and business critical projects such as redundancy, TUPE and variation of terms collective consultations including supporting employers in navigating trade union relations.
Supporting employers in successfully resolving protracted and high value disputes with employees from grievances to disciplinaries to Employment Tribunal litigation.
Delivering line manager training programmes for large organisations including training on the duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
Experience & education
Charlotte was awarded a First Class Law LLB (Hons) from the University of Kent and completed her LPC at College of Law, Guildford. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2009.
