Our Construction and Engineering Team acts for a range of public and private sector clients, including professionals, contractors, developers, sub-contractors and owner/occupiers across the East of England and beyond.
The team deals with all aspects of law that concern the construction industry but has particular expertise in dealing with construction disputes.
We engage in all forms of dispute resolution including adjudication, arbitration and mediation. We also have experience of acting for clients in proceedings before the High Court or the Technology and Construction Court.
Adjudication
A major part of the team’s practice involves adjudications arising from claims for non-payment by a contractor or sub-contractor. We routinely act for main contractors and large scale sub-contractors. The team is known for its no-nonsense, cost effective approach to adjudication.
Professional negligence
Increasingly, construction professionals are being held accountable for their actions. We have experience of both pursuing and defending claims of negligent performance through adjudication, mediation, arbitration and court proceedings.
Complex cases
It is our experience that High Court and arbitration proceedings remain the preferred dispute resolution mechanism to resolve complex defect disputes that often turn on expert evidence. We are able to draw on years of experience in dealing with such cases.
