We have particular expertise in providing legal advice to professional and regulatory panels convened to determine allegations of misconduct. We understand the need to protect the public and maintain public confidence that underpins such hearings. We are one of only three law firms appointed to provide legal advisers to the Teaching Regulation Agency’s professional conduct panels.
Birketts has a team of dedicated investigators who can investigate allegations of wrongdoing. Our team of investigators include those trained and experienced in dealing with allegations of sexual misconduct, who are able to investigate very sensitive allegations of this nature. It is critical such investigations are undertaken by experienced and trained investigations to avoid exacerbating the distress that may already have been suffered by those involved.
Our team is also able to put forward the case to answer before the regulatory or professional disciplinary tribunal. Our team includes seasoned advocates, who have prosecuted very serious allegations of wrong doing on behalf of regulatory bodies.
Birketts also advises individuals who are the subject of professional or regulatory discipline and provide representation for them at professional and regulatory disciplinary tribunals.
